Our COVID-19 Guidelines

Mayor Lucas has announced new COVID-19 guidelines for Kansas City. At CGKC, we don't have to change a thing, because since our reopening on May 25th, we have already been following and strictly enforcing the guidelines newly mandated by the city. Below are the policies we already have in place, current gym offerings, and sanitization procedures.  
  • Face coverings at all times
  • Physical distancing of no less than 6ft 
  • Never exceed 50% capacity (usually far less)
  • Physically distanced, masked, small indoor classes, outdoor classes, and virtual classes 
  • Shower access by request only

Monday – Friday: 5:00am – 9:00pm
Saturday & Sunday: 7:00am – 5:00pm

Our Current Offerings

We strive to offer fitness opportunities that meet every member's comfort level. 
Open Fitness Floor
The free weights, weight machines, cardio equipment, turf and boxing area are open, but COVID-19 guidelines enforced.

Indoor Group Fitness Classes

We have begun indoor group fitness classes in a limited capacity. These classes have eight or less participants and are socially distanced, with masks required at all times. Equipment used in these classes isn't shared between participants and is disinfected between sessions.

Outdoor Classes

We offer a variety of outdoor classes including our Be Well Bootcamp that occurs Monday-Thursday at 5:30am. Any equipment used during these classes is not shared between participants and is disinfected between sessions. Physical distancing is enforced during bootcamp and requires that members bring their own towel/mat and bottled water. Members can register for bootcamp one day prior to each class. 

Virtual Classes (with in-person options)

We offer virtual classes available to members through our Mindbody membership system. Members must register for the class to receive the live stream link via email. There are limited in-person spots for these classes. If you have technical issues with a virtual class, please contact Katie Roder at katie@citygymkc.com.

On-Demand Video Workout Library
We have launched an on-demand video library of your favorite classes, so that members can workout anywhere, anytime! We will conitnue to grow this offering in the coming months!

Personal Training

Personal Training has resumed, but members must communicate directly with their trainers to schedule training. If you have questions about Personal Training or wish to be matched with a trainer, please reach out to Josh Guffey at josh@citygymkc.com.

Our Sanitization Procedures

Cleanliness has always been a pride point for us, 
but with the threat of COVID-19, we have stepped up our game to a whole new level. 
  • Masks required at all times and provided if needed
  • Synexis® Air filtration system. The Synexis Biodefense system effectively and safely reduces microbial threats in occupied spaces. DHP treats both the air and surfaces continuously and is used in hospitals, professional sports and schools.
  • Sanispraying of equipment to ensure complete disinfection of equipment, mats and gym supplies (multiple times daily). 
  • Electrostatic cleaning of entire facility once a week 
  • Sanitizing stations throughout the facility
  • Equipment cleaned before and after use by clients with hospital grade virucidal cleaner/disinfectant 
  • Equipment cleaned before and after use by trainers hospital grade virucidal cleaner/disinfectant 
  • Regular drinking fountains turned off, water bottle filling stations turned on  
  • Cleaning Crew each night
  • No touch check-in procedure.
  • Equipment marked to enforced physical distancing
  • Sanitize showers after each use.
  • Sanitize restrooms multiple times throughout the day
  • Consistent contact tracing available
  • Outdoor equipment for trainers
